                  Drama Therapy and Psychodrama for Theatre Artists

                  NORTHAMPTON, MA (THURSDAY NIGHTS 7:00-10:00)
                  NEW YORK, NY (MONDAY NIGHTS 7:00-10:00)

                  NGTE (www.ngte.org) is offering a new course in Drama Therapy/ Psychodrama especially designed for theatre artists and theatre students. This invaluable skill set will benefit any actor, playwright or director in his/her theatrical work as well as open up career potential for theatre work in educational and therapeutic capacities.

                  Building a strong ensemble in order to secure a safe working environment for exploration and experimentation, students will learn both didactically and experientially ways of using theatre to help individuals and communities. There will also be a huge personal benefit in this fun and challenging course, which will build insight, and inspire confidence as well as creating transformation.

                  The course will include Drama Therapy techniques such as Role Play, Playback, Sociometry, Sociodrama, Pyschodrama, Boal, Fictional Families, Sculpture, Puppets, Masks, as well as theatre skills like voice and movement, improvisation, ensemble training, scene study and emotional preparation. We will culminate the course in an open (invited) presentation.
